Montblanc Fountain Pens

Have you ever used one of the Montblanc fountain pens?  There’s just no comparing to a cheap imitation, a felt tip, or a ballpoint pen.  Once you get the hang of writing with one, your writing and the ink just flows naturally with fluidity you wouldn’t want to write with any other instrument.  With a gold or stainless steel nib, they are visually reminiscent of antique fountain pens and are still a classic writing instrument used today by people with a focus on quality and distinction even in their choice of pens.

In fact, Montblanc fountain pens are one of the finest writing instruments available on the market today and are considered a prestigious executive gift with many limited edition styles named after famous people like Greta Garbo, Virginia Wolfe, Marlene Dietrich, Charles Dickens, George Bshaw, Edgar Allen Poe, Oscar Wilde, and others dating back more than 100 years for some.  The original limited editions are selling for hundreds and thousands of dollars.  Some of these styles include an 18 K gold nib and clips and rings plated with real gold, as well.

Each Montblanc fountain pen contains a nib tip and a barrel that houses an ink reservoir and a piston-type device that enables you to load additional ink into the reservoir.  Ink is purchased in bottles or ink wells, similar to the way it was in years past.  Nibs are available in various widths including fine or medium and other variations.  It takes a little while to get used to writing with a Montblanc fountain pen, but once you do, your writing style and penmanship will be noticeably improved and you’ll never go back to cheap pens again.

Not all Montblanc fountain pens are as pricey as the vintage limited editions, though.  Prices will vary depending on the style and design you select, and it’s a great idea to start out with one of these less expensive models to get the hang of using one.

Once you own one of these fine writing instruments, there are a few things you will want to consider doing, however.  First, never leave your Montblanc fountain pen unattended, such as lying out on a desk in a public place.  It will probably disappear, never to be seen again.

Second, store your Montblanc fountain pen with its cover on at all times and also in its case to keep from damaging the tip or bending it.  Keep the ink stored at room temperature with the cover tightly attached.

Having been around for more than 100 years,  Montblanc fountain pens are timeless writing instruments that will hold it’s value and provide many years or even a lifetime of writing function and pleasure.
